Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Manage end-to-end accounting close

- Support the Accounting Lead with month close procedures globally

- Prepare supporting documentation and reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaids, fixed assets, other assets, payroll, and accruals

- Help to implement close management software

- Perform initial review for accuracy and completeness of expenses including developing a robust accrual process

- Liaise with FP&A in the preparation of the monthly reporting package including period-over-period analysis

- Perform daily ad hoc accounting tasks

- Assist with review of vendor bills, corporate credit cards, and employee reimbursements

- Manage cash application daily and monitor global balances

- Improve collections by building robust automated processes

- Coordinate with payroll to review payroll journal entries and ensure all required payroll taxes are paid

- Prepare for audit readiness

- Coordinate with external auditors for timely submission of all required requests (Global Audit and Local Statutory Audits)

- Drive Finance Transformation initiatives to leverage AI and tooling at scale

- Enhance or upgrade our tech stack to enable the latest in AI technology

- Challenge our processes and develop an AI-first approach

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- 4-8 years of accounting experience with a mix of public (highly regulated) and private (hyper-growth) companies

- Proficient in US GAAP

- Ability to identify areas for improvement and build solutions using AI

- Desire to drive operational efficiency to scale the accounting function

- A structured, self-directed, detail-oriented builder and problem solver who can design a process where none exists, run it, and improve it over time without being managed toward it. A bias for simplifying and automating processes and a passion for building an AI-native finance function.

EVEN BETTER…

- Previous IPO experience with enterprise B2B software company

- CPA license and/or Big 4 experience
