Start-up / Field Marketing Lead

Extend is building document processing infrastructure for the most technical AI teams to work with unstructured data (e.g. PDFs, Excel, images, etc.). AI teams at companies like Square, Zillow, Brex, Flatiron Health, Checkr, and Mercury use Extend to process their most complex documents.

We're looking for a Start-up / Field Marketing Lead at Extend. You will own the mandate of field and conference marketing, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who makes sure every startup and developer knows Extend and thinks of us because of the events and physical presence we build. Awareness takes a long time to turn into a signup or a booked demo, and being IRL, month after month, is how we'll drive it.

We care far more about slope than years of experience. We're looking for someone who can project-manage the hell out of an event, stays unflappable when things break, and genuinely loves planning IRL events and being part of the startup community.

Role and Impact

• Expand Extend’s field footprint and brand awareness in SF and NYC via creative, fun, and well-curated events in both locations. Think bold.
• Activate the startup community: YC and Demo Day events, co-hosted events with partners, founder dinners — whatever makes every startup know and think of Extend
• Support conference execution: project-manage Extend's conference presence end to end — booth build, shipping logistics, staffing, run-of-show, and follow-up — so the team shows up ready and nothing gets figured out on the day
• Make people stop: design booths and activations that get people to stop, engage, and remember us — tasteful, never generic B2B
• Make events bigger than the room: produce for social so an event reaches people who weren't there
• Tie IRL to pipeline: connect events to signups and booked meetings so we know what's working and where to double down

Ideal Candidate Credentials

• 1+ years of experience. We're hiring for slope, not years. Great backgrounds include VC (platform, chief of staff, or community), event or field marketing, production, SDR or growth roles with a lot of event work, and chief of staff roles
• You love planning IRL events, not just attending them, and you're already part of the startup community: you're on X, you know founders, and you have strong opinions about what makes a good event
• You break an event into workstreams, keep every stakeholder on track, and see the blind spots before they show up
• You're warm, extroverted, and not afraid of rejection: you'll say good morning to every person who walks past the booth, and a "no thank you" doesn't slow you down
• You bring creative, unconventional ideas that cut through the noise at events where everyone else looks the same
• Experience managing the conference lifecycle: event selection, sponsorships, booth or activation strategy, speaking opportunities, meeting generation, onsite logistics, and post-event pipeline follow-up.
• Based in NYC and willing to travel to SF often
