ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Accounting Manager, you will maintain our financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, support payroll and procurement processes, and assist with various audits. You will take ownership of core accounting workstreams and contribute to the ongoing development of our finance practices as the company scales. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

- Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, and deliver accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP

- Execute day-to-day accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing (A/R & subscriptions), general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Own billing, invoicing, and collections for our enterprise customers.

- Support annual financial audits, tax filings, and various other audits (e.g., financial, tax, workers comp) by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor requests.

- Manage spend and AP by tracking and classifying our costs. Run accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and expense management.

- Maintain payroll accuracy, track equity records in Carta, and support stock-based compensation expense, reconciled to board approvals and 409A valuations.

- Produce the monthly reporting package, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, burn, and key metrics. Partner with leadership on board materials and fundraising diligence.

- Coordinate on federal and state income tax, sales tax, 1099s, R&D credits, and state registrations as we hire and sell across more jurisdictions.

- Design lightweight, scalable controls, including approval workflows, segregation of duties, and close checklists, that protect the company without slowing a fast-moving team.

YOU MAY BE A FIT IF YOU:

- Have 2-5+ years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting and industry experience preferred

- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- Have strong working knowledge of and deep technical experience with accounting principles.

- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to data accuracy.

- Are an effective operator in a fast‑paced, high-growth environment, comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and limited resources

- Proactively builds or improves processes, documentation, and controls while balancing speed and rigor.

- Have experience supporting month-end close processes, preparing management reporting packages, and hands-on experience assisting with audits.

- Strong process design, documentation, and internal control mindset.

- Are based in SF and willing to be in office 5 days a week

NICE TO HAVE:

- Direct accounting experience in accruals, prepaids, investment, ASC 842 leases, revenue, foreign currency and/or consolidation.

- Experience at a high-growth or hyper-growth company

- Familiarity with modern accounting and expense tools (e.g., ERP systems, corporate card/expense platforms)
